The end of our first week!
Well, it´s been a eventful first week. First it was an earthquake and then the other day it was a Tsunami warning, although the Tsunami warning wasn´t all that bad. Rick was pretty sure that the house we are staying at was up enough of a hill, that we did not evacuate. As it turned out the alert was cancelled about 9:30 PM.
Spanish lessons are going great, I can´t believe how much we are learning already. Everyone is doing fine, however Luke was really homesick the other day and missing Pete. As for the rest of us, so far so good. Bye for now, Claudette

Hi Claudette
How are you doing doing down there in Costa Rica? I hope the sleeping area is comfy enough and that you aren’t longing for your bed back home. (too soon for that in your trip!)
Sorry to hear Luke is homesick. I am sure there will be more days like this … but he just has to make the best of each day (new adventures). I hope the kids heal quickly from the jelly fish stings … I hear they can be nasty!
Well, I hope your Spanish lessons aren’t too daunting and overwhelming. This is supposed to be FUN! Take care and I will write another time.
hugs,
Ann

Hi,
sounds like you are having a good time, except for the earthquake and tsunami warnings!?!
I feel for Luke, I fell for Pete in just a few days, and miss him. He is quite the dog.
We are getting a downpour here, my street is flooded, That happens at least once a year and it only comes 1/2 way up the lawn. It’s no Tsunami.
Hope peru is up and running by the time you arrive.
Later
Bev

Luke didn’t really get stung we don’t think. Alex did though! She was certainly in pain… Luke would have been screaming and blubbering mucho if he had really been stung. Alex was told that she got stung by a Medusa Jellyfish. It was just a bit on her arm, and some freshwater and a little bit of pressure made the pain go away.
The beds are great! The lessons are lots fun, and even more so for Claudette because it’s so similar to french that she is miles ahead! She said she’ll still keep me though…
