Unfortunately, the kids missed out since they went first in line with Claudette. It was surreal, cause that arrogant couple REALLY, really believed they were better due to whom they were born to. Alex bought a book written by one of the wives of the last Maharajah of the North, near Agra (the Taj Mahal). She married into the family in the late 1930's and talks in many places about how they respected the people and all the good they did for the people. Then in other parts she talks about discovering the servant who was "stealing" Perrier bottled water, and how that servant was severely disciplined. This elitist attitude also came out in describing their general cushy lifestyle. Lastly, her husband's daughter from another wife is listed in the Guiness Book of World Records for having the most expensive wedding EVER! How one can reconcile that with so many poor people or disabled outside their house begging for scraps of food I just don't know.

wow! .... what an amazing blog you wrote! I can practically see you involved in the discussion with the money, and the woman who was nasty with her words.

Different cultures ... different countries ... different personalities. What did the kids think of this conversation that took place? Curious to know what their thoughts are and how they perceived this.
